PATIENT INFORMATION

Text Box: Dr. Duey and his staff will provide you with information about your particular vision issues.  Please do not hesitate to ask questions—we are here to help you!  The examples below are brief explanations to provide you with a general knowledge of some of the most common vision problems.

Text Box: MYOPIA
You have trouble seeing things in the distance but things up closer are clearer.  Also called ‘short-sightedness’ this is typically corrected with glasses, contacts or surgery.

Text Box: HYPEROPIA
Also called “far-sightedness” this condition may cause blurry near vision in older patients.  In younger patients, hyperopia causes eyestrain, eyen fatigue and problems reading.

Text Box: PRESBYOPIA
As we grow older we lose our ability to clearly focus on anything close up.  Sometimes this results in reading glasses and other times bifocals or progressive multifocals are prescribed.

Text Box: CATARACT
Typically occurs as a normal aging process.  The lens of your eye will become milky such that your vision seems foggy and you are more bothered with glare during night driving. Surgery is the only solution for this condition.
